During the workshop, I made various small paper sculptures using techniques that Richard Sweeney demonstrated to us. We then photographed them from various angles to capture scale and shadow, giving the pieces more impact.
This last one is my favourite, and I will spend more time adding to it and making changes to the angles and scale to see how it works as a larger more complex piece.
Given that our brief is based around the notion of 'repeat', a lot of Richard Sweeney's work has given great inspiration for possible designs. When we spoke in the workshop, he advised me to look at organic forms, to make my sculpture designs flow and bend in the way that natural objects do.
